If you're still believing that eventually a ground breaking game will emerge sometime this year, or the year after, even the year after that I would just give up. Why? Because MMOs are cyclical, the playerbase ( or audience ) for MMO games are constantly being replaced so developers have always been able to get away with releasing the same repetitive games with slight variations between them. Developers really didn't care about us gamers back in the day, and they don't care about newer gamers now, they're well aware of what they're doing and will continue to repeat the same processes over and over.

Does this mean playing MMO games is pointless? Well, no.

There is still a bit of a refreshing feel to a MMO the moment you begin playing it though this feeling subsides relatively quickly the fact that you're in a new environment, a new world makes the game interesting even when you feel that you've played the game before.

They're many MMO bloggers who question why certain games like Tales of Laputa or Avatar Star are being played by players despite being complete knock offs of better games such as Crystal Saga ( Tales of Laputa ) and BattleField Heroes ( Avatar Star ) the developers are counting on players who are familiar with these games and avoid them being replaced by newer gamers who have yet to experience said games.

Knock off games aren't made for veterans, they're for the next generations of MMO gamers who want to play the games we played in the older days with a fresh new face and that's where the plethora of copycat MMOs come into play. Weather we veteran MMO gamers like it or not, these games will be played, and people will pay money to play these games. We, the veterans have our games, we know how to appreciate gameplay over graphics, we learn to love simplistic gameplay mechanics and sophisticated system mechanics, but not the newer generation. This generation of gamers can look at a game with under par graphics and call it crap while we can see a game for what they truly are.

So the next time you think about bashing a game for being a copycat, think about this, was this game intended for you to play? I find myself questioning why people play such a obvious knock off of a already established game but that is because the developers were not targeting me as a potential consumer.

If you're a veteran gamer and has yet to learn this, you're being played for a fool.

Kinda random, anyway, I always found girls who aren't totally glamorous to be more pretty than barbie dolls. Despite how she looks, I think she's adorable.
