OS hosting multiple browser games now.
As you're probably aware Outspark ( the company that recently hosted Wind Slayer 1 ) has decided to end Solstice Reborn 2 weeks ago. This was sort a surprise to me having seen the new revamped Solstice only some months ago I thought surely if any game was to be closed it would be Project Powder. That being said, I hold nothing against Outspark for the closure of Wind Slayer, I believe they were trying to contact Hamelin to get the game back on its feet but Hamelin had higher priorities ( like producing content for Wind Slayer 2 ) I may be wrong on this but its just a gut feeling.
What I really wanted to get into is that I'm rather, well, saddened by Outspark's decision to publish web broswer games ( not 1, not 2, but 3 ) as opposed to more MMOs. Could this be because they don't have the money to purchase anymore MMOs? It seems this way from my point of view seeing the vast amount of games they've had to shut down recently.
I'll admit, I feel really bad for the company to have been reduced to hosting browser games. How long will Luvinia, Fiesta & Project Powder last is anyones guess although I did see interesting updates on their pages for Fiesta & Project Powder which leads me to have higher hopes for them.

I was surprised about the end of SoS as well, that was one of their top games in my opinion. Project Power seems dead to me. -Shrug-
What I'm wondering is that, when Outspark stopped updating, did Kws shift into WsS? Some of the people at Outspark said that they sent some messages to the developers, but they received no response. So I did not hold anything again them.
I guess Outspark will have to do with its browser games, Luvinia, and Fiesta. I have no hopes for Project Powder, despite any new updates.
Well, they've closed plenty of games in their history. The only one that seems odd is SoS.

Outspark said that they were shutting down Solstice Reborn temporarily (or at least that's what they implied). So, there is a chance that it might open back up, but I doubt it.
Secret of the Solstice (Predecessor of Solstice Reborn) was the very first MMO I played. I had so much fun in it. After the huge kron hack, my guildies started to quit or get less active, and I gradually lost interest too. :(
I think Solstice Reborn brought better contents/gameplay, but at the same time, lost some of the good features in SoS. I played it for a while. After skill nerfs and etc, Reborn lost its population again. I ended up playing alone without any friends and guild. Then I decided to leave Reborn for good.
Because it was my first MMO and I had so much fun in it for 2 years, its shutdown makes me sad.
I could be mistaken, but I think Fiesta is still holding its own. Luvinia actually came out recently and I haven't heard too many bad things about it yet.

Actually they are losing the game, even if there's a slim chance of migration the fact remains that OutSpark IS losing Solstice.VastoLorde wrote:Outspark said that they were shutting down Solstice Reborn temporarily (or at least that's what they implied). Unfortunately games are like that ( sorta like a chain reaction ) once games start losing key players in the community often the case others follow.VastoLorde wrote:Secret of the Solstice (Predecessor of Solstice Reborn) was the very first MMO I played. I've only glimpsed at Solstice, I never really played it myself. But ya, sometimes, change suck hehe.VastoLorde wrote:I think Solstice Reborn brought better contents/gameplay, but at the same time, lost some of the good features in SoS. I played it for a while. When you enter the FTP world, you're risking time, money and energy.VastoLorde wrote:Because it was my first MMO and I had so much fun in it for 2 years, its shutdown makes me sad.
Fiesta seems to be OutSpark's only popular game, Luvinia I played during closed beta and it just seemed too generic for me to keep interested into commercial release.VastoLorde wrote:I could be mistaken, but I think Fiesta is still holding its own.
