Mmo graphics.
2D games are usually sprite based and WS2 is no exception, all the characters are just 2D sprites, but how do they make them look so 3D? Anyone know of a program I could try to see if I can make some sprites I drew into 3D form?
Re: Mmo graphics.
I don't know how Hamelin made the new character graphics for Wind Slayer 2 (It looks shit in my opinion so I probably won't even try to find out).
If you're talking about the old graphics style that was more pixel based and style that's used in other games like Maplestory and Wonderland Online; I can help you there. They probably used their own programs or ones like Photoshop, Graphics Gale or even MS Paint.
To make a sprite look more 3D (like the new graphics) as opposed to more 2D and retro (old WS graphics) you would simply need to anti alias more and use more realistic shading... the problem is that we're working with sprites around 64x32 so the result is somewhat "noodle-like".
Old WS --- New WS (both rough)
MMO Graphics in general are usually either pixel based or 3D based. The 3d graphics are pretty easy to figure out as well as 2D though. You would need any good 3D rendering program and something like Photoshop to make the skin layouts for the renders.

Re: Mmo graphics.
Thanks 8Bit, I made some sprites some 5 years ago that I wanted to test 3D rendering on.
Re: Mmo graphics.
Oh cool, when you're done you should post them even if the outcome looks really weird xD
