Hulu Plus and Netflix

I currently discontinued me netflix because I bore of watching movies quite easily because they end so quickly. I prefer T.V shows because it keeps you entertained for much much longer ( obviously ) Although I find myself close to never turning on my cable T.V because whenever I wanna watch something, I just jump on me Hulu Plus on me Wii so my question is.

Is cable pointless if you have Hulu Plus or both?

I'd like to keep me cable because I can watch just about everything on there without having to wait or rely on Hulu Plus to receive it. Hulu doesn't have everything but it has more than enough to keep me busy for ALONG time.
