I really don't know what to say, so I guess I'll just quote it?
http://ws2.ignitedgames.com/center/news/notice_view.asp?list_seq=542

To our valued players and members,

First and foremost, we would like to express our sincerest
gratitude to all of our loyal players and community members for your
continuous support. At the launch of WindSlayer 2, we did have high
hopes of providing a quality service to our valued members and we were
excited to provide an exciting game to our users. Unfortunately, due to
unforeseen lack of contents for the game, we believe it has not met our
expectation to provide a high standard of service to our users.

We have been working with the developers to improve many aspects of
the game including fixing critical exploits, adding new features and
improving on the ones already available. As it will take a decent amount
of time for the developers to work on these requests, we made the
difficult decision to temporarily shut down the service until we are
ready to unveil the new and improved WindSlayer 2 in the Fall of 2012.

Some of the features that will be present when the game goes live again will be:
*New Job and Abilities
*New Maps and Monsters
*New Boss Encounters
*Official Tournaments and Guild Battles
*And much more!

To many of us here at Ignited Games, WindSlayer 2 is part of our
daily lives which we have grown quite fond of. We cannot express how
saddened we are about the temporary discontinuation of WindSlayer 2 but
we are looking forward the time to meet our users back in WindSlayer 2.
Although the service will be down, all WindSlayer 2 user data will be
kept to restore once the service is back up. In the meantime, we've
prepared a number of iCash compensation rewards for all WindSlayer 2
players to use on all our Ignited Games (DarkEden, Rosh Online, &
Atlantica Online). All reimbursed iCash will be given on April 9 by 7pm
PDT and we hope you understand that this is our best effort to benefit
you.

What now? 20120405_announcement01

We will be waiting for the day when we can bring the WindSlayer 2
server back online and envision everyone reconnecting for the adventure
that lies ahead. We will be sure to inform you any updates on our
progression so please stay in tuned while trying our other games.

We truly apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused and we will see you in one of our other games in the near future.

Thank you for all your patience and support

The WindSlayer 2 Team

I'm guessing I should delete this post? Or should we keep it up for people to read/discuss?

My last ounce of faith for this game was dwelling on its last leg but now I've lost all hope for this game, there is absolutely no reason why the developers should be fucking backed up when so much content we're missing is already in the damn game. Their incompetence is on a level that matches no other. Do what you want but I'm not returning to this game once my new pc comes in.

If they're struggling now, heh, good luck guys.

Lol. Can't say I blame you, there's nothing that Ignited Games can really do to renew interest in this game as far as I can tell >D

Surely they can, they need to put more effort in advertising the game. Do you think they're even TRYING to get Wind Slayer 2 out there? Amuse me and show me where you've seen even the slightly bit of advertisement for this game.

I used to play a game called MonkeyQuest by Nickolodean, you know why? Because that shit was fucking everywhere, every website I visit that stupid ad for the game was there and eventually I played it ( too kiddy for me ) but that's besides the fact, you can't rely so heavily on the players to get your name out there, you'll have to do that yourself.

Besides, most players are so lazy that they never even bother to go on the forums.

Despite what I say I love this game guys, but I've been playing these FTP games for too long, I can't keep putting so much time into a game that'll eventually bite the dust, I'm freaking 22, I don't got that kinda time to throw away.

I strongly agree,

"You have to spend money to make money"

This is a quote that I'm sure they have heard of. I'm also sure that they did not take it serious enough.

What I think they should have done is waited until all of the features were ready and then released the game. Their approach was respectable/ understandable because of the fact it respected the fan base although it may not have been in the game's favor. Now what they're doing is what they could have done in the beginning but decided not to (for us). If they did start of how a bigger company would have; the game would most likely have been a lot more successful than it was.

Not true, if you can get your name out on popular forums via ggftw.com or any other place players go to escape the jurisdiction of official forums such as 8sh.tk. Players will be more than eagered to try out the latest contender on the 2DMMO market. Sadly, Hamelin just doesn't have the high standards that players today are expecting from games. A perfect example of this is how few WonkaKing players actually play the game.

You can't open up a restaurant with mediocre food and service and expect to make a decent living, people are gonna look at your restaurant, and then look at your competitors, and then never come back.

You know, I just think IG shouldn't have bought WS2 to begin with, they already had a 2D main attraction that was WonkaKing, they don't need another 2DMMO. I'm now thinking that Wind Slayer was just unfortunate to have been purchased by IG and OutSpark.

Maybe Hamelin got soooo many good suggestions, that the only way to start implementing any of it was to temporarily shut down the game Tehee. I'll keep tabs on KWS.

Here's something to get our minds off of all this

I was just trying to log into my KWS account and realized I forgot the information. Damnit, I'm going to need more videos of robots buying various fruits.

Could it just be that their other games are keeping them occupied? Because that was one of my theories on Outspark. They had to close FoF, Ws1, and SoS all together during in summer-fall (And they had to keep up with so many games. They're not Nexon; Y DEY TRY DAT?). And IG has two new games that they want players to try, which I probably won't :c

Sometimes I do wonder if any other company would buy Ws2. Well, if they looked at it now, they'd probably reconsider.

I doubt they're implementing in suggestions though. ;_;
By the time Ws2 is back up, people will either [walk] back into it or just say "forget it."
In my opinion, they really weren't trying too hard to get people in. :L
Someone even said that IG did it for a quick buck, knowing that players from Ws1 would swarm in.
