The Switch: Wind Slayer coming back soon? (9/4/2012)
Recently Hamelin (the developers of WS) decided to take their services elsewhere (host the game themselves). They also decided to start fresh (wipe) with the exception of letting players request to have their characters transfered.
Hm, so why am I telling you this and why the hell should we care? Perhaps the reason Ignited Games chose to shut down our Wind Slayer was because our version needed attention that the developers couldn't give, because they had problems of their own (moving services). It seems as if they're just crushing the final bugs that came with the switch. Maybe once their done, they'll be able to give us the attention our version needs.
So look out for that. Keep in mind; it's around the time that Ignited Games said that the game would be coming back. Also look out for some important announcements I have coming up.
What makes you believe they've already decided to drop IG? How could the Koreans host the game themselves?
Re: Hey 8Bit?
Oh, all I'm saying there is that the developers are dropping their korean partners and hosting the game themselves. I don't know what their plans are with Ignited Games.

I heard that Avocado sold the rights to Hamelin, if Hamelin isn't developing Wind Slayer, who is?8bit wrote:Oh, all I'm saying there is that the developers are dropping their korean partners and hosting the game themselves. I don't know what their plans are with Ignited Games.
Re: Hey 8Bit?
Avocado was never developing Wind Slayer. They were just the first English company to host Wind Slayer. Hamelin has always, and still is the only company developing Wind Slayer. Now they just want to host it as well as develop it.

Allot of Malaysian companies do and still do the whole duel server hosting an English speaking and Mandarin speaking servers but people have always complained that there was still lag issues. They're players from Eastern USA complaining that they have delays from a game server located in California, them hosting their own server is bound to be even more disastrous. I wish IG gave us at least some confirmation of what's going on. Even OS did that, they have to talk to us even if its bad news.
Edit : A bit of delay to rid us of annoying stun locking might not be so bad
Re: Hey 8Bit?
I've considered that perhaps Ignited Games doesn't think anyone cares. Maybe we should get a bunch of people invested into contacting Ignited Games regarding the game's return instead of an unreasonable contest.

You mean a petition? I'm sure they're still some Wind Slayers that check the site in vain hoping for good news ( at least I do daily ) but maybe because we don't say anything ( like how the Wonder kingers invaded our forums ) that they've come to the conclusion as you said that maybe we don't care.
Re: Hey 8Bit?
Something like a petition, yeah. Although I don't know how effective this would be, considering how they don't really even pay attention to the posts on the Facebook page. Perhaps they would respond to a somewhat organized group of genuinely concerned players.

So you're saying we should mass helpdesk them or something?

EDIT: But how and when? Hmm...
I can't really say, there is a new GM on Dark Eden meaning they are GMs and Mods actively
...
Don't really think a petition would do it. And submitting a ticket no one would see wouldn't show a concern. I mean think about it they would only see it once. I think if a bunch of people spammed the ignited forums of their other games about when is Windslayer 2 coming back they would see a huge frustated demand for the game. It would also get the onlookers curious who never played the game. I wouldn't recommend using your actual ignited account though.

But you got to admit if they're taking their time with getting this game and WonderKing back online a bunch of frequently appearing letters may convince them to at least try harder ( if they're trying at all ) to get the game back. Wonderking is kinda lost cause (imo) since the Korean version is no where in sight, and when it was, it quickly vanished again.

I guess thats the bad part about 2d games ...the maintenance. They are supposed to be the easiest games to hack.
